When and where do we play?

Time

Wednesday evenings 8.00 until 10.30.

All weeks?

We play right through the year. But do lose the occasional evening if Christmas or New Year fall on a Wednesday!

Place

In the grounds of Wellington College public school in Dukes Ride, Crowthorne, Berks. The leisure complex is run as a separate professional venture from the school itself. It offers superb facilities to a large number of private members for most sports from tennis to rock climbing. There are good showers and, thankfully, a Bar. The badminton is played in an excellent sports hall, which houses 8 courts. We have 4 courts throughout the season. Click here for map

What standard do we play

Standard

We play good competitive level of Ladies, Mens and Mixed doubles. We have teams at various levels of the Aldershot and Camberley Leagues. We are looking for members who have the potential to play in one of these teams. You may have relatively little experience or it could be some time since you played. But if you have the potential that is what counts.

Leagues

For the 2007/2008 season, here are our Match Fixtures.

Further details may also be found in the Aldershot and Camberley League.

How do I go about getting into the Club

The first step is to come along for a few weeks as a guest member. This allows you to 'try us out' to see if you like the Club, and it also allows us to determine your current/potential standard of play. A member of the Club will be assigned as a sort of buddy for this period. So, there is someone to show you the ropes and who can answer your questions. You will also find the club members friendly and supportive during this time. Usually after about 3 evenings we will talk things through with you to decide on whether you become a permanent Club member.

What does it cost?

For club members, there are two ways of paying. Most people pay by standing order. This is currently £16 per month (i.e. £192 per year). Alternatively, you can make a single discounted payment of £182 at the beginning of the Club year - which is May. If you join part way through the year, your payment will be calculated pro-rata for the year. The Treasurer will ask you which of the two methods of payment you prefer. When you play in matches there is a £3 match fee for both home and away games.

Non-member visitors pay a visitors fee of £6 per evening.
